Past Projects

2006 - Haley's Annual Birthday Bash at the Children's Hospital of Atlanta

The HVF party was a huge success. We had probably 40 children, and everyone seemed to have a good time…as good as you can in a hospital anyway. I imagine it is exactly how Haley would have wanted us to spend her birthday. And even as tears sprang to my eyes from time to time, I had to smile at these precious kids making the most out of what life has handed them. Just like Haley. (View more pictures of the luau…)

Thanks to all of you who have donated! Our word of mouth is spreading like wildfire, and I can barely keep up with the demand. We have certainly found a much-needed niche. I will be sending out 100 hot wheel cars for the social worker at Egleston to give out at transplant clinics. He said they still have some of the coloring books and crayons I brought last time.

Hughes Spaulding Children's in Atlanta also wants to be "plugged in". They are a hospital with little financial funding, and very little for the children. We sent two boxes of toys, but I would like to think bigger, maybe donating TV's for the rooms. So, something for the future.

Besides many individual children all over the country, we are actively taking referrals and meeting needs at 3 hospitals in Atlanta, 2 in Florida, 1 in Nebraska…and soon, we hope to add Johnson City. We are also, sadly, sending out many grief packages. Again, I believe we have found an untapped need.

One of our local churches will be doing a big Christmas project for the HVF, so stay tuned for details of that.
